5. A Gingerbread Romance
Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Duane Henry star in A Gingerbread Romance, a 2018 American television film directed by Richard Gabai and starring Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Richard Gabai. With Christmas only a few weeks away, Taylor’s employer enters her in a contest in which teams must design and build life-size gingerbread houses. Taylor will most likely be promoted to a post in another city after the competition.
Taylor is paired with Annabelle, a renowned French pastry chef with whom she immediately clashes. When Annabelle leaves, Taylor ends up in a neighborhood bakery, where she meets Adam, a baker and single father. Taylor persuades Adam to join her in the tournament out of desperation, claiming that winning would give the bakery and his designs much-needed publicity.
Taylor has been hesitant to name any place ‘home’ for years, fearing that it will only be transient. But the time she spends with Adam and his daughter in their cozy house, decorating for the holidays and seeing the town over the holidays, makes her yearn for a place to call her own.
6. Bread, Love and Dreams
Yoon Shi-yoon, Eugene, Joo Won, and Lee Young-ah star in the 2010 South Korean television drama Bread, Love, and Dreams. This movie about bakers depicts the story of a dedicated teenage baker who overcomes numerous obstacles on his way to becoming Korea’s top baker. This story takes place between the 1970s and the 1990s, beginning with his conception and ending in his mid-twenties. The 30-episode series aired on KBS2 on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 22:00 (KST) from June 9 to September 16, 2010.
With a final episode viewership rating of 50.9 percent, the series was one of the most-watched shows in South Korea in 2010, and it became the 25th best rated drama of all time. It is widely regarded as lead actor Yoon Shi-breakout yoon’s role, catapulting him to worldwide fame and garnering critical acclaim for his sincere acting.
7. The Secret Ingredient
In this movie about bakers, Kelly, a small-town baker, is surprised when she is invited to compete in a Valentine’s Day baking show in New York City – and even more surprised when she runs across her ex-fiancé. Kelly, the proprietor of a bakery, hasn’t given love a second thought since Andrew broke off their engagement to go to culinary school in Paris.
