It details how Sarma Melngailis, a vegan restaurateur, unlawfully transferred funds to her husband so he could pay a deity to grant them immortality. The series follows Sarma Melngailis, the former proprietor of the vegan restaurant Pure Food and Wine in New York City. Sarma met and married conman Anthony Strangis (also known as Shane Fox), who she claims pushed her into stealing money from her own restaurant and then fleeing the authorities.
